Ice-hockey team "Ak Bars"
The team was formed in 1956 under the name "Mashstroy". The first two seasons it took part in the Kazan championship, at the beginning of the tournament it changed the name to SK Urizkiy.
The team takes part in the championships of Russia since 1958.
The names: SK Urizkiy (1958-1990), Itil (1990-1995), Ak Bars (since 1995).
The best achievements:
- The champion of RSFSR (1962 and 1976).
- The holder of the Continental Cup (2008), The Bronze prize winner of the Continental cup (1999).
- Champion (1998, 2006, 2009 and 2010), the silver prize winner (2000, 2002 and 2007) and the bronze prize winner (2004) of the championships of the Russian Federation.
- The holder of the European champions' cup (2007)
- The double holder of the Gagarin cup CHL in 2009 and 2010
