The Excursion trip to Bolgar

The Bolgar preserve - is one of not numerous, even the only historical architectural complex of Povolzhie tatars. It is situated on the abrupt left bank of the river Volga, 120 km from Kazan.

Bolgar (Bulgar) - is not only the cultural gem of the first magnitude, but also the depository of learning of rich history of the area and the people, living here, on its basis the fundamental historical science and the Tatarstan archeology, museology and study of art appeared. This place is sacred for all the tatars, the place of worship and pilgrimage of Muslims, who wish to make the "light" hajj to their shrines, this place is covered with legends and is connected with historical facts.
 

The foundations of statehood of modern tatars were laid here, and also in 922 the capital of Volzhskaya Bolgaria officially accept  Islam and connect its fate with the culture of Islamic world.

The preserve is the object of historical and cultural heritage of federal significance and especially valuable object of Tatarstan cultural heritage. In 1998 the Bolgar historical architectural culture preserve was included in the Introductory list of the World cultural and natural heritage UNESCO RF (the list of expectation)

Since 1246 Bolgary (firstly Bulgar) is the capital city of  Volzhskaya Bolgaria and in XIII-XIV centuries struggles unyoking of Golden Horde. The palaces, mosques, churches, mausoleums are built in the city these years.

The excursion includes visiting of the museum of archeology, situated in the building of the church  of Dormition (monument of XVIII century), the exhibition hall with the exposition  "Bolgars in the art", the Muslim memorials of XIII-XIV centuries: the Cathedral Mosque with the restored "big minaret", the Northern mausoleum with the exhibition of epigraphic  monuments, the "Eastern mausoleum", the "Small minaret", the Khans' burial vault , "White palace", "Black palace", "Small town", the Khans' bathhouse, defences, the Suvar's ancient settlement.

The dinner is paid additionally - 200 rubles for one person.
