The bus excursions  start  from the hotel Tatarstan (Pushkin street, 4), which is a 10 minute walk from our hotel. You can pre-book the tour you are interested in when you arrive to our hotel.

**The excursion trip to the Raifa Monastery of the Mother of God. Raifa monastery of the Mother of God has a centuries-old history. It should thank for its name the monastery on Sinay semi-island, founded on the place of camp of  Jews on the exit with Moisey from Egypt to Israel. Raifa Monastery is situated on the bank of the lake, in the circle of  venerable  pines. It is unique in terms of architecture, too. Raifa belongs to such a rare monasteries, that are restored practically completely. Its ensemble is considered to be the masterpiece of architecture. The main shrine of the monastery - is Georgian Mother of God Icon - is famous as miracle-working and it grants cure to sufferers.
Nowadays Raifa monastery is the centre of visitation of pilgrims not only from Russia, but the whole world. Many faithful and the representatives of clergy consider exactly Raifa  monastery the real New Jerusalem, summoned to become not only the centre of eastern orthodoxy, but the orthodox world of all Russia.

The excursion includes visiting of the Troitsky cathedral, the Church of the the Georgian Mother of God, going to the lake.

It is the first orthodox town in the Middle Povolzhie region, founded in 1551 by the Russian Tsar Ivan the Terrible. For many centuries Sviyazhsk has been the All-Russian orthodox shrine. But the destiny turned in such a way, that after the Russian Revolution in 1917 this saint place became the place of  the prisoners' isolation, the branch of GULAG (Main Departement of camps for political prisoners). The mental hospital was also placed in the monastery. Only in 1960 Sviyazhsk was announced the monument of history and culture of Russia. In 1997 the Dormition Cathedral was given to the competence of Kazan orthodox eparchy, summoned to revive the ancient town and raise it from the ruins.

The excursion includes visiting of the Church of the Saint Trinity,  Sergiy Radonezhskiy the miracle-worker Church, the Cathedral of Our lady of all Sorrowful, Chapel, the Cathedral Dormition of Virgin Mary, the Church of Saint Konstantin and Helen.

*****The Excursion trip to Elabuga. Elabuga - is a small ancient town with 1000-years history, that is comfortably situated among the forests on the right bank of the river Kama, at 215 km to the east of the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan. Buried in verdure city with the panorama of churches and ancient stone mansions is a unique example of the merchants architecture of the XIX century, that has kept its inimitable look and unique landscape.

It is also possible to visit  the house-museum of I.I. Shishkin (famous Russian painter), the literature museum of M.I. Tsvetaeva (famous Russian poet), the House of Memory of Marina Tsvetaeva, the museum of  district medicine of V.M. Behterev (genial scientist - psychiatrist).

******Animated program "Kazan`s kalyapush " (transl. tatar head-dress). Interactive show begins with meeting of the guests by Batyr and his girlfriend - Tutash. Together with Batyr and Tutash the tourists start traveling round the entertainment center "Tugan Avylym " (tatar village). During this journey the tourists visit several  interactive stages, where, taking an active part, learn more about the history and culture of the Tatar people in general and the history of the Tatar woman's headdress - Kalyapush in particular. At various stages visitors will learn Tatar national songs and dances. During the competitions the national headgears will be given: kalyapush to the women, skullcap to the men. Also in the interactive program "Tatar Kalyapush" there is a possibility for the tourists  to cook the Tatar honey gingerbread  during a special master class with their own hands - Kalyapush and carry it with them.
